Sunday, August 9th active Navy Hospital Corpsmen from Great Lakes Naval base and Marine and Army veterans joined dozens of Diveheart volunteers to give children, adults and veterans with disabilities an incredible day of diving and fun During Diveheart’s Dive/Picnic Summer Celebration at Haigh Quarry (www.haighquarry.com) in Kankakee, IL.   The divers included children, young adults, and veterans with autism, visual impairments, traumatic brain injury, cerebral Palsy as well as other disabilities.  Some of those attending are participants and buddies from Illinois Center for Rehabilitation and Education – Roosevelt (ICRE-R) who left August 12th on a life changing Diveheart Scuba Adventure trip to the Florida Keys.

 

Marine veteran Greg, is accompanied by his Diveheart instructor and experiences his first fish feed at Haigh Quarry.
