Illinois Governor Pat Quinn takes a moment with Rick Olson who is a DMW (Diveheart Military Wounded) participant, Vietnam veteran, and Hines V.A. patient who is blind.  The event took place October 28th at the Union League Club in downtown Chicago to recognize recipients of the Illinois Department of Veterans Affairs “Lottery Ticket” Grant.  The State lottery will be launching a new ticket that will benefit veterans with disabilities around the state of Illinois.   Diveheart’s DMW program for disabled veterans received such a grant in 2009 and is training veterans around the state as a result.

Diveheart volunteer and DMW co-coordinator Andrew Ryal and DMW participant John Williams attended the event.  Diveheart president, Jim Elliott, would like to thank them for taking the time to help move the DMW cause forward.
